Duo's GameBoy Development News

This website contains information and links for programming the old 8-bit Nintendo GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, and Nintendo DS.

"The 8-Bit GameBoy and GameBoy Color systems are not dead. They are more akin to a Bonsai tree. Old, Small, but still alive in a sick, twisted little way."

May 4th, 2005 - New hardware!

Woohoo! Today arrived another Virtual Boy game that I won on EBay, this one was a steal. TWO Virtual League Baseball games, one still sealed in the original shrink-wrap, the other open for playing. And it was had for all of $6 total. Hell of a cool find. I've been trying to build up a collection of VB games for my little GameBoy museum. I barely lost an auction on 4 of the better VB games last week. But I'm sure I'll find others.

May 1st, 2005 - NEOFlash Review Soon & more...

Thanks to the NEOFlash Team, I will have a hardware review up in the coming week of their new NEOFlash 3-In-1 Kit. This kit is a 3-in-1 package for the GBA, SP, and DS systems, using Magic Key technology. Once the hardware arrives to my lab, I will put it through its paces and post a review of its performance and value.

April 20, 2005 - Site redesign

Since I'm very much still into the GameBoy dev scene, I thought I'd update my webpage to reflect it. I went back to an older site design that I had, cleaned up a bunch of links, and re-wrote huge sections. ASMSchool is back on, and I'm working through adding more documents and cleaning up some lessons.

Sections that are up now include ASMSchool, my Projects, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS development, and a few others. I have a section now that showcases the best 8-bit GameBoy demos that have been made by various coders as well.

Take note that writing these lessons and designing these pages takes a good amount of time, so some pages might be temporarily unavailable from time to time.
